Writer’s Toolbox (August 2025)

Every craft and profession involves tools we need to use and master so we can make good work. Writing is no different.

We know these tools from all our years of reading and experiencing story. But sometimes we need support to feel really comfortable using them.

That’s what this short online courses is all about. It’s an idea I’ve developed over the years: a core set of tools, techniques, knowledge and elements that every writer needs to master.

So let’s build on what you already know, and help you master the tools you need to write fiction.

This is a live, online course over four weeks, with me – Kelly Gardiner.

What you need to know

The classes are at 7.30pm on Wednesday evenings (Melbourne time) from 27 August to 17 September 2025.

They are held live each week on Google Meet. You will receive the link after you enroll. Each class is an hour of learning and discussion, with some writing exercises, plus 15 minutes of Q&A.

This is planned as a small group learning experience so places are limited.
