Terms & conditions: class participation
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the purchase of tickets for writing workshops, masterclasses and retreats (“Workshops”) organised by Kelly Gardiner & New Page Writing Retreats & Masterclasses. By purchasing a ticket, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Ticket Purchase and Confirmation:
– Tickets for the Workshop can be purchased online through Trybooking.
– Your booking is not confirmed until you receive a confirmation email from us. Please keep this email as proof of booking.
2. Ticket Price and Payment:
– The ticket price is as advertised and includes any applicable taxes and fees.
– Payment must be made in full at the time of booking for masterclasses and short courses.
– Places in some longer Workshops such as weekend retreats may be secured by payment of a deposit (see booking form for details).
– We accept payment via Trybooking.
– Concession rates for some Workshops are available for holders of student cards, pension cards and health cards.
3. Cancellation and Refunds:
– Cancellations made up to 30 days prior to the Workshop date are eligible for a full refund.
– Cancellations made 29 to 7 days prior to the Workshop date are eligible for a partial refund, apart from a small administrative fee (depending on type of Workshop, as catering and venue bookings will already be in place).
– No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than 7 days before the Workshop date.
– If you’d rather postpone than cancel, for example if you are ill on the day, please get in touch and we’ll see if we can arrange for you to participate in a future class or retreat. It may not always be possible but we will try.
– To request a refund, please contact us via email with your booking details. Our email address is on your confirmation.
– Some of our workshops and courses are held online via video conference on Google Meet or equivalent. Refunds cannot be issued for any issues arising from your internet connection or IT environment, such as difficulties in connecting to the online event or encountering audio quality issues. So please, well before the workshop, thoroughly review the information provided to get set-up and if necessary download any video conferencing software, make sure you can log-in, and test audio etc is working prior to the event.
4. Workshop Changes and Cancellations:
– We reserve the right to change the Workshop date, time, venue, or cancel the Workshop entirely at our discretion.
– In the event of a cancellation by us, you will be entitled to a full refund of the ticket price.
– We are not responsible for any additional expenses incurred by attendees, such as travel, parking or accommodation costs.
5. Workshop Participation:
– Workshop attendees are expected to arrive on time and participate fully in all activities.
– Any disruptive, hostile or inappropriate behaviour may result in removal from the Workshop without a refund.
– The Workshop content, including materials and presentations, is for personal use only and may not be reproduced or distributed without permission.
– We will obey all current and relevant health regulations affecting gatherings or our venue. Hand sanitiser and masks will be available.
– You must not attend the Workshop if you are sick or unwell, for the sake of other participants who may be vulnerable.
– Please ensure your vaccinations are up-to-date.
6. Liability:
– We are not liable for any loss, injury, or damage to persons or property during the Workshop.
– Attendees participate in the Workshop at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety.
– We can’t provide IT support for you but are happy to answer questions before an online class begins.
7. Photography and Recording:
– Photography and recording of the Workshop sessions are prohibited without prior consent from the Workshop organisers and all participants involved. We will discuss this at the start of each class or retreat.
– We may take photographs or recordings during the Workshop for promotional purposes, or simply to share with the group privately. By attending, you consent to being photographed or recorded. Please let your instructor know if you cannot be photographed.
8. Privacy Policy:
– We will only collect and process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which can be found here.
9. Governing Law:
– These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Victoria. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
10. Changes to Terms:
– We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website.
